CALENDAR CLARIFICATION
The school calendar is still in effect, so APRIL 10th is a HOLIDAY, no school that day.  Therefore, you do not need to take attendance or do lessons on Friday, April 10th.  All Central Staff are also OFF.

In addition, MONDAY, APRIL 13th is an Inclement Weather that day, so no school that day, but CENTRAL OFFICE is open.  No lessons that day.

TECHNOLOGY UPDATES AND INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY REPAIR
Below are the steps for repair of student technology:
  1. The student needs to call 1-972-925-5630 for the Service Desk to try to fix/repair the device over the phone.
  2. If the Service Desk cannot repair the device, the Service Desk will submit a ticket into the system.
  3. IT will contact the student to swap out the device.
  4. The swapping out of devices will occur at a quadrant location.
  5. The device swap will occur on THURSDAYS only.
  6. In the event the student has a broken device, the campus teachers will need to allow students to make up work that was unable to be completed or submitted.
HOTSPOTS
The link to request a Hotspot is located at the At-Home Student/Parent page.  The ones submitted earlier from SLB have been captured into this database.  The prioritization for hotspots is by grade level starting with 12th grade and working down and limited to one per family.  IT is taking the information and identifying one per household based on address. AT THIS TIME, the DISTRICT does NOT have enough HOTSPOTS to fulfill ALL REQUESTS.  They are in the process of ordering additional hotspots.
Hotspot processing and distribution is as follows:
  1. IT will configure the device and package the device with the campus name and student name.
  2. The IT Supervisor will contact the campus principal when the hotspots are ready.
  3. The campus principal/designee will notify the student/s that the hotspots are ready for pick up at the campus site on Thursday.
  4. IT will deliver the hotspots to campuses on THURSDAY for distribution.
SENIOR ADMISSIONS/AWARDS BECAUSE WE NEED GOOD NEWS!

Our seniors have been wildly successful on the college acceptance front. We had a student accepted into USC’s highly-selective film program (in addition to UCLA, Pomona, and a waitlist at Harvard!). Another was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania (!), Notre Dame, Wake Forest, USC, and TCU with a full STEM scholarship. Multiple students were accepted to Emory University. One was accepted to UVA and UCLA (on top of UChicago, as well as a waitlist at Stanford!). A WIldcat senior was just notified that she won an ROTC scholarship at Johns Hopkins, which will cover her tuition and fees (more than $60,000/year). One student received a $6,000 Excellence Scholarship from UNT, on top of $9,575 in grant money. A classmate committed to Hampton University, with a $15,000 scholarship. We’ve already had nine students commit to Texas A&M (with 14 additional acceptances!), - WHOOP! as well as nine students commit to UT Austin.

Students can schedule time with Ms. Baz here: https://calendly.com/lbaz or email her at lbaz@aspdallas.org to update her on acceptances and financial awards.

Today is our last spirit day - Flashback Friday, so sport your uniform and tag your post with #WildcatStrongAtHome
