April 24th, 2020 - Course Selections, AP Info, Dallas County Promise, Report Cards, and more

Happy Friday.

Course Selection Verification:
Students, this is the last day - LINK
Once we update course selections, we'll share more information about summer assignment expectations.

Woodrow Wilson AP Testing Memo:
Please review our campus memo regarding AP testing expectations and support - LINK
This is note is very important from the document. Since students will receive their tests by email, they may need to update their email.
  • Directions for how to access a student’s AP exam will be sent directly to the student’s email address on their College Board account. Students will need to update this email address ASAP to ensure they get access to their exam. Directions for how to do so can be found here

Dallas County Promise Appeal Process:
We’re excited to launch the appeal process for students who missed the Pledge deadline! Most of our direct-entry partners are extending admissions and financial aid application deadlines, so this appeal form is only meant for 2020 seniors who are enrolled at a Promise high school but did not complete a Pledge.

Students without a pledge can appeal using this link: https://dcccd.tfaforms.net/37.

Students should submit any admissions and financial aid applications to partner colleges before submitting their appeal form. We do our best to send Pledge decisions within 30 days of receiving the appeal form. Status updates will be emailed to the student using the email they provide.

See more information HERE.

Requesting Report Cards:
Due to our current At-Home status, report cards will not be mailed home. If you would like to receive a copy of your student’s report card (via email) click the LINK below to fill out your request. Please allow 24 business hours to fulfill all request.

For security purposes, only parents/guardians listed in PowerSchool may request their student's report card.

PowerSchool Issues:
If your student is having PowerSchool issues they will need to follow the steps below. At campus level we can only assist with Parentportal (parent Powerschool)

Student/Parent IT Tech Support information
Call the DISD Service Desk Support Hotline: 972-925-5630
Service Desk Call Menu:
•             Press #1: For Employee and student password resets
•             Press #2: For Oracle, PowerSchool, Clever, Microsoft and Google issues
•             Press #3: For All Computers, Printers and related issues

Powerschool is designed to be used with Chrome so before calling please ensure that chrome is the browser being used and not explorer.  Your student will log in with their student ID number and the password that they use to log into their google classroom accounts.

Seniors:
Mr. Meaker is working with our PTA to organize fun activities as well as check out items to make sure all seniors are clear to graduate. Most of the social events are coordinated with PTA such as Prom so they are working to see what options are available. Events such as graduation are coordinated through Dallas ISD and we are waiting official communication on what that may look like.

We will also post a checklist of items to make sure you know important steps that need to happen so that you are prepared to enroll in college in the fall. Please reach out to Ms. Baz or your counselor for support.
