April 2nd, 2020 - Jersey Day and National PB&J Day

Does it get any better than this? Jersey Day and National PB&J Day.

Today's history lesson:

Peanut butter was considered a delicacy in the early 1900s and was only served in New York City’s finest tea rooms. In a May 1896 article published in the Good Housekeeping magazine, a recipe “urged homemakers to use a meat grinder to make peanut butter and spread the result on bread.”  That same year, in June, the culinary magazine Table Talk, published a “peanut butter sandwich recipe.”
In 1968, The J.M. Smucker Co. introduced Goober, a jarred product that combined alternating vertical stripes of peanut butter and jelly.
The average American will have eaten over 2000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by the time they graduate from high school. <--- that sound right?
Have a sandwich. Wear your favorite jersey. Tag your post: #WilldcatStrongAtHome
We are seeing factastic work being submitted. Everything from paintings and poems to workout videos and essays. Keep up the awesome work. Let us know when you need help. Look for ways to help one another.
I am hoping for Senior updates by the end of the week. I know there are a lot of questions about prom, graduation, and senior events. As soon as I find out, we'll let you know ASAP. If you have ideas for how to adapt some experiences, please reach out to Mr. Meaker, Ms. Page, and Ms. Shockley.
And please remember than meal distribution will be cut to one day a week, Thursday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, so stop by JL Long to pick up some items. There will not be meal distribution on Mondays any longer.
Here are some College Blitz pics from the fall.
